Services

Basic Servicing

A basic servicing should be done every 2-3 years depending on the clock and the environment, with a more thorough cleaning and inspection done every 3rd servicing, or 6 - 9 years.

This will include removal and cleaning of the movement with an ultrasonic cleaner, lubrication, case cleaning, and preventative repair of any issues I find along the way - bushing replacement, pivot repair, corrosion treatment, etc. All of which is covered by a full year guarantee.

I charge a flat rate, depending on the clock (NEVER any added fees, even if extensive repairs are required), and turnaround time is usually between 5 days and 3 weeks, again depending on the clock and the specific adjustments or repairs required.

Full Teardown/Overhaul

This is typically for clocks that haven't run in quite a long time. They may be missing parts, or have severely worn or damaged components.

This service covers a wide array of issues, usually many things at once. If components need to be replaced or found, I will make sure they are correct for your clock and the time period (when possible), and your clock will be returned in working order or there will be no charge.

Because this frequently requires ordering extra parts and making more than fine adjustments, turnaround time can vary from a couple weeks to a few months. Quotes will be provided on a case-by-case basis.

In-Home Service/Evaluation

I don't expect anyone to bring their grandfather clock to me just to take a look at it. It is often far safer for the clock itself to stay put and have me come examine and service it in home.

For a simple cleaning and oiling of a clock in good working condition, I do in home servicing calls by appointment. Because this is a single day appointment, I can't listen to and watch the clock, so I will be glad to show you how to make simple adjustments if they are necessary.

Contact using any of the available methods to set up an appointment.

Phone/Email Consultation

Have questions? Is your clock doing something weird and you're not sure if it needs to come in?

Give me a call or shoot me an email. There is also a contact form on this website you can use. I can even do video calls if needed, all free of charge.
